Greydon Petznick, Architect with Van Auken Akins
The peak years of the development of Shaker Heights paralleled the careers of some of the finest architects and builders in American history. Collectively known as “historical revivalists,” these men trained in academies in Rome and Paris. Charles Schneider mastered the Jacobean Tudor forms and Clarence Mack, the Georgian Revival style. Other architects of equal stature were Bloodgood Tuttle, Meade and Hamilton, Philip Small, and Walker and Weeks.
